Nathan's practice is concentrated in the areas of insurance coverage and insurance bad faith, aviation, products liability, complex tort and personal injury, and general business law and litigation. He has experience in all aspects of pre-trial litigation, including written discovery, depositions, client and witness meetings, law and motion, mediation, motions in limine and jury instructions.
Nathan has prepared and successfully argued summary judgment motions in complex insurance coverage and business disputes, and has assisted trial counsel in preparing a number of complex aviation and insurance bad faith matters for trial.
Prior to joining Coddington, Hicks & Danforth, Nathan practiced with a law firm near San Diego, California. There he specialized in public entity litigation and the defense of premises liability, products liability and other negligence-based tort cases.
Nathan also has experience in media law, having served after law school as the Jack Nelson Legal Fellow at the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press near Washington, D.C. He drafted appellate briefs and worked in the Freedom of Information Service Center for the nonprofit organization, which advocates for the legal rights of journalists.
Nathan authored an article entitled "Causation Clear But For Jury Instructions" which appeared in the Spring 2010 edition of Defense Comment magazine, a publication of the Association of Defense Counsel of Northern California and Nevada. He also co-authored the book "State Open Government Law and Practice in a Post- 9/11 World."
