Peter’s practice is focused on complex insurance coverage disputes and insurance bad faith claims. He has experience in all aspects of pre-trial litigation, including discovery, law and motion practice, and alternative dispute resolution.
Prior to joining Coddington, Hicks & Danforth, Peter was an insurance coverage attorney with both mid-size and boutique law firms in the Bay Area. He litigated all aspects of complex insurance coverage disputes involving claims for declaratory relief, breach of contract, and bad faith, and represented carriers at mediations and settlement conferences. He also has experience in litigating insurance coverage cases arising out of asbestos bodily injury and construction defect claims.
Peter has drafted numerous opinion letters analyzing complex insurance coverage issues arising out of claims under commercial property, commercial general liability (CGL), crime and fidelity, and open and inland marine insurance policies. He has also assisted carriers with the investigation of fraudulent insurance claims through Examinations Under Oath.
Before becoming an insurance coverage attorney, Peter began his career with an international law firm in New York City. At that time, his practice was focused on mergers & acquisitions and public and private debt and equity offerings.
While in law school, Peter served as an extern for the Hon. Theodore H. Katz of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
