Rachel E. Carr is an associate attorney whose practice is concentrated in the areas of aviation law, insurance coverage disputes and bad faith litigation.

Ms. Carr received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Engineering and Government/Law from Lafayette College, in Easton, Pennsylvania in 1999. While studying at Lafayette College, she earned her varsity letter in swimming and studied in Brussels, Belguim. Ms. Carr went on to earn her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the American University Washington College of Law in 2005. In law school, Ms. Carr served on the American University International Law Review and studied international law in Santiago, Chile and Madrid, Spain. She was admitted to the State Bar of California in January 2006.

Before joining Coddington, Hicks & Danforth as an associate attorney, Ms. Carr was the Manager of Legislative Affairs for the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) in Washington, D.C. There, she worked actively with members of Congress and staff, advocating AOPA’s positions on matters of general aviation security, safety and technology.

Ms. Carr has also served as a Staff Assistant to the United States House of Representatives, Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, Subcommittees on Aviation and Railroads. She extensively researched safety and security issues in connection with major legislative initiatives, including the Aviation and Investment Reform Act of the 21st Century (AIR 21), the Air Transportation Safety and System Stabilization Act and the Aviation and Transportation Security Act.
