Lee J. Danforth Member Mr. Danforth is a member of the firm whose extensive trial experience has covered a broad range of disciplines, including commercial claims, insurance bad faith, products liability, wrongful death and public nuisance cases. Mr. Danforth has tried a number of insurance bad faith cases to verdict involving various lines of insurance. These trials, often lasting for several months, have addressed unique and developing areas of law, particularly in the area of homeowners insurance coverage. Mr. Danforth is lead trial counsel in dozens of such cases involving mold contamination and remediation, construction, personal injury and real estate fraud. In the area of products liability, Mr. Danforth has tried to verdict many cases involving severe injury and wrongful death. His experience includes matters involving component parts, engines, aircraft, high pressure valves and tubing, and construction materials. Beyond this area, Mr. Danforth has also tried a number of complex personal injury claims involving both private and commercial claims. Mr. Danforth has also handled several appeals. One of these addressed the resurrection of the doctrine of primary assumption of the risk that now has found renewed respect amongst California appellate courts. His appellate experience also extends into the areas of insurance coverage and bad faith. Mr. Danforth's extensive litigation experience has earned the respect of our community. He has been called upon to mediate complex cases that cover the broad spectrum of his experience. Mr. Danforth has also been voted one of the top 100 Super Lawyers for Northern California for the last three years. In addition, Mr. Danforth lectures upon diverse legal topics, including courtroom evidence, insurance considerations, punitive damages, insurance good faith, and judicial arbitration. Mr. Danforth received his Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude in 1971 from California Lutheran College. He received his Juris Doctor degree from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 1976. Mr. Danforth is admitted to practice in the States of California and Alaska. He is a member of the Association of Defense Counsel of Northern California and Nevada (member, Insurance Law and Product Liability committees) and the San Mateo County Bar Association.
