Kathryn C. Klaus

Of Counsel
Redwood City, California

Kathryn is Of Counsel to the firm. After graduating from law school, she served as a law clerk to the Honorable David A. Huff, judge of the Third Judicial District Court of Nevada. After completing her clerkship in 2000, she started as an associate attorney at Coddington, Hicks & Danforth, where she has remained her entire career.

Kathryn’s practice is primarily focused upon defense of wrongful death, catastrophic injury and civil rights claims. The geographic scope of her practice has required her to be admitted pro hac vice in several states. Her practice has extended beyond personal injury matters, as she has been extensively involved with aviation and insurance bad faith litigation. Recently, she was an important member of the defense trial team in a high profile and sensitive case stemming from an alleged gang rape. The case presented numerous constitutional and evidentiary issues, and Kathryn was instrumental in drafting and arguing many of the motions that produced important rulings for her client.

Kathryn is thoroughly involved in the firm’s private and public lecturing activities. She regularly prepares curricula for and participates in private presentations for the firm’s clients as well as public lectures. These presentations have included a number of topics including avoiding extra contractual liability for insurance carriers.
